REFUGEE FILM RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL AWARD
The Telly Awards announced this morning its annual international awards with TeleStory Pictures on the hot list for its story-driven, creative film for Episcopal Migration Ministries about the global refugee crisis and the need for refugee resettlement.
Telly Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations and production companies around the world. Notable past and present winners include Walt Disney Studios, ESPN, Sony Pictures, Paramount Studios, Ogilvy and Mather, Fleishman Hillard, NBC, CBS,The History Channel, Time Warner, WSJ, Viacom and more.
The film, for Episcopal Migration Ministries, tells the emotional story of the global refugee crisis and the stories of individuals driven from their homes due to war, violence and persecution. Some wait in camps for well more than a decade to finally be given legal status in a new country. TeleStory Pictures traveled across the United States filming individual stories whose lives had been changed by Episcopal Migration Ministries refugee resettlement services.
Episcopal Migration Ministries, or EMM, is one of nine U.S. state department approved refugee resettled organizations. LDS Charities partnered with the two organizations to see this project come to light.
Michael Mills, Executive Producer for TeleStory Pictures, was thrilled and humbled at this morning’s announcement. “What an honor to receive this prestigious award. The stories we had the opportunity to tell were both horrific and heroic and left my crew and I changed for having done so. We’re so grateful to the team at EMM and LDS Charity’s whose collaboration made this all possible.”
